1818 AN ACT CONCERNING INTERPRETING SERVICES PROVIDED BY
1919 THE DEPARTMENT OF REHABILITATION SERVICES.
2020 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2121 Assembly convened:

2323 That section 46a-33 of the general statutes be amended to require the 1
2424 Department of Rehabilitation Services to: (1) Improve the 2
2525 qualifications needed for an individual to become a sign language 3
2626 interpreter; and (2) increase the number of sign language interpreters 4
2727 that are available to state agencies. 5
2828 Statement of Purpose:
2929 To meet and enhance the advocacy needs of state residents who rely
3030 on sign language interpreters.
