AN ACT CONCERNING INTERPRETING SERVICES PROVIDED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF REHABILITATION SERVICES. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That section 46a-33 of the general statutes be amended to require the 1 Department of Rehabilitation Services to: (1) Improve the 2 qualifications needed for an individual to become a sign language 3 interpreter; and (2) increase the number of sign language interpreters 4 that are available to state agencies. 5 Statement of Purpose: To meet and enhance the advocacy needs of state residents who rely on sign language interpreters.
