AN ACT CONCERNING CONSIDERATION OF IMMIGRATION STATUS BY HEALTH CARRIERS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That title 38a of the general statutes be amended to provide that no 1 insurer, health care center, fraternal benefit society, hospital service 2 corporation, medical service corporation or other entity delivering, 3 issuing for delivery, renewing, amending or continuing a health 4 insurance policy in this state shall refuse to deliver, issue for delivery, 5 renew, amend or continue such a policy solely on the basis of the 6 immigration status of an insured or prospective insured. 7 Statement of Purpose: To prohibit certain health carriers from refusing to deliver, issue for delivery, renew, amend or continue certain health insurance policies in this state solely on the basis of the immigration status of an insured or prospective insured.
