AN ACT CONCERNING A STUDY OF AUTOMATIC D IRECT
PAYCHECK DEPOSIT PRO GRAMS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
Section 1. (Effective from passage) (a) The Labor Commissioner shall 1
study whether employers with twenty-five or more employees should 2
automatically enroll their employees into direct paycheck deposit 3
programs and whether any such enrolled employees should have the 4
option to opt out of such programs and elect to be paid by either cash 5
or check. 6
(b) Not later than January 1, 2020, the Labor Commissioner shall 7
report the results of the study completed pursuant to subsection (a) of 8
this section, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a of the 9
general statutes, to the joint standing committee of the General 10
Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to labor. 11
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following
sections:
