2019 AN ACT CONCERNING CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

2423 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General

2726 Section 1. Subsection (e) of section 20-206mm of the general statutes 1
2827 is repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective July 2
2928 1, 2019): 3
3029 (e) An emergency medical responder, emergency medical 4
3130 technician, advanced emergency medical technician or emergency 5
3231 medical services instructor shall be recertified every three years. For 6
3332 the purpose of maintaining an acceptable level of proficiency, each 7
3433 emergency medical technician who is recertified for a three-year 8
3534 period shall complete thirty hours of refresher training approved by 9
3635 the commissioner or meet such other requirements as may be 10
3736 prescribed by the commissioner. The refresher training or other 11
3837 requirements shall include, but not be limited to, training in 12
3938 Alzheimer's disease and dementia symptoms and care. A person 13

4745 chapter and the regulations adopted pursuant to section 20-206oo, who 15

4947 recertified in accordance with this subsection, provided such person 17
5048 shall not be subject to the requirement of completion of refresher 18
