AN ACT CONCERNING A STUDY OF THE STATE-WIDE HEALTH INFORMATION EXCHANGE AND INTEROPERABILITY OF ELECTRONIC HEALTH RECORD SYSTEMS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the Department of Public Health and the Insurance 1 Department jointly conduct a study of the optimization of the State-2 wide Health Information Exchange and the interoperability of 3 electronic health record systems through consultation with 4 stakeholders, including, but not limited to, hospitals, physicians, 5 providers of outpatient services, community health cen ters, 6 pharmacies and patients. Not later than January 1, 2020, said 7 departments shall submit to the joint standing committee of the 8 General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to public 9 health a report of the findings and recommendations from such study. 10 Statement of Purpose: To study the optimization of the State-wide Health Information Exchange and the interoperability of electronic health record systems.
