REP. CARPINO, 32nd Dist. REP. BORER, 115th Dist. AN ACT CONCERNING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A COMMITTEE TO ENSURE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE SAFE SCHOOL DESIGN AND OPERATIONS STANDARDS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That chapter 173 of the general statutes be amended to require each 1 local and regional board of education to establish a permanent 2 committee to ensure that the safe school design and operation 3 standards, as developed by the Department of Emergency Services and 4 Public Protection and the Department of Education, are being 5 implemented, and that such committee includes, at least, the 6 superintendent of schools, the local chief of police, the local fire chief, a 7 representative of a local emergency medical services organization, a 8 local public health official, a representative from the office or 9 organization responsible for facility maintenance, a mental and 10 behavioral health professional, and a representative from a parent 11 organization. 12 Proposed Bill No. 6231 LCO No. 2016 2 of 2 Statement of Purpose: To establish a committee to ensure the implementation of the safe school design and operations standards.
