| 27 | 27 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Assembly convened: |

| 30 | 30 | | That the general statutes be amended to create a program that 1 |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | authorizes municipalities to purchase, either on their own or with 2 |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | other municipalities, electricity generation and gas supply services for 3 |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | electric and gas customers within such municipalities, and such 4 |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | program shall allow municipalities to request bids, set rates, contract 5 |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | with suppliers and developers, administer funding of energy efficiency 6 |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | measures and finance local renewable energy facilities to provide 7 |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | municipally controlled electric and gas services to residents, businesses 8 |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | and government customers within such municipalities. 9 |

| 39 | 39 | | Statement of Purpose: |
|---|
| 40 | 40 | | To create a program to allow municipalities to purchase electricity |
|---|
| 41 | 41 | | generation and gas supply services for electric and gas customers |
|---|
| 42 | 42 | | within such municipalities. |
