AN ACT CONCERNING CARRY PERMIT RECIPROCITY.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That chapter 35 of the general statutes be amended to require the 1
Attorney General to (1) annually publish a list of any state of the 2
United States, or any political subdivision thereof, that issues permits 3
or certificates to carry a firearm with substantially similar standards 4
for age, background investigation and training as required by 5
subsection (b) of section 29-28 of the general statutes, and (2) negotiate 6
and enter into agreements on behalf of the state of Connecticut with 7
the appropriate authorities of any state of the United States, or any 8
political subdivision thereof, granting reciprocity to any person with a 9
permit or certificate to carry a firearm, provided such state or political 10
subdivision has substantially similar standards for age, background 11
investigation and training as required by subsection (b) of section 29-12
28 of the general statutes. 13
Statement of Purpose:
To secure permit or certificate reciprocity between Connecticut and
other states that have substantially similar standards for carrying a
firearm.
