23 | 23 | That section 20-14o of the general statutes be amended to (1) allow a 1 | |
24 | 24 | prescribing practitioner to refer a patient to a chiropractor or a physical 2 | |
25 | 25 | therapist in addition to or in place of issuing a prescription for an 3 | |
26 | 26 | opioid drug, and (2) require the Department of Public Health to (A) 4 | |
27 | 27 | establish guidelines for the use of evidence-based, nonpharmaceutical 5 | |
28 | 28 | therapies to treat chronic pain that include, but are not limited to, 6 | |
29 | 29 | chiropractic treatment and physical therapy, and (B) conduct 7 | |
30 | 30 | educational and outreach activities to raise awareness of such 8 | |
