| 24 | 24 | | Section 1. (NEW) (Effective July 1, 2019) On and after January 1, 2020, 1 |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | (1) each state-owned or leased building shall provide and maintain in a 2 |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | central location of the building at least one automatic external 3 |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | defibrillator, as defined in section 19a-175 of the general statutes, and 4 |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | (2) at least one person employed at such state-owned or leased 5 |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | building shall be (A) trained in the use of an automatic external 6 |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | defibrillator in accordance with the standards set forth by the 7 |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | American Red Cross or American Heart Association, or similar 8 |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | standards set forth by another organization approved by the 9 |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | Department of Public Health, and (B) present at such state-owned or 10 |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | leased building during normal business hours. 11 |

| 35 | 35 | | This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following |
