2121 AN ACT CONCERNING SENIOR CENTERS.
2222 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2323 Assembly convened:

2525 That title 17b of the general statutes be amended to authorize (1) 1
2626 establishment of multipurpose senior centers, (2) assistance to senior 2
2727 center personnel and municipal agents for the elderly by the 3
2828 Department of Rehabilitation Services, and (3) a state-wide senior 4
2929 center work group including, but not limited to: (A) The 5
3030 Commissioner of Rehabilitation Services, or the commissioner's 6
3131 designee; (B) the Commissioner of Social Services, or the 7
3232 commissioner's designee; (C) two representatives of the Connecticut 8
3333 Association of Senior Center Personnel; (D) one representative of the 9
3434 Connecticut Association of Municipal Agents for the Elderly; (E) one 10
3535 representative of the Connecticut Local Administrators of Social 11
3636 Services; (F) five representatives of senior centers, with one from each 12
3737 of the five planning areas, as described in section 17a-304 of the 13
3838 general statutes; (G) one representative from a nonprofit senior center; 14
3939 and (H) one representative from a senior center that is accredited by 15

4545 Statement of Purpose:
4646 To provide for the establishment of a multipurpose senior center and a
4747 senior center work group as well as assistance to senior centers and
4848 municipal services for aging persons.
