1818 AN ACT CONCERNING THE INCLUSION OF AGE-OUT GOALS FOR
1919 STUDENTS WITH IEPS.
2020 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2121 Assembly convened:

2323 That part V of chapter 164 of the general statutes be amended to 1
2424 require that (1) a child's initial individualized education program 2
2525 consider such child's goals upon reaching twenty-one years of age and 3
2626 include a plan with a goal for aging-out of the educational plan, (2) 4
2727 each subsequent individualized education program for such child 5
2828 reconsider and reevaluate the child's age-out goal to see where the 6
2929 child's progression is toward achieving such age-out goal, and (3) such 7
3030 child's progress shall be measured to assess his or her progress 8
3131 towards achieving such age-out goal and to make any necessary 9
3232 modifications to such child's individualized education program. 10
3333 Statement of Purpose:
3434 To require the establishment of an age-out goal for students with IEPs,
3535 and to require each annual IEP reevaluation to measure the student's
3636 progress towards that goal, and to revise as necessary in order to reach
3737 that goal.
