AN ACT CONCERNING INDIVIDUALS WHO POSSESS FIREARMS WHILE PROVIDING SCHOOL SECURITY SERVICES. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That section 10-244a of the general statutes be amended to (1) 1 ensure that a person who will possess a firearm while providing school 2 security services in a public school satisfactorily completes a child 3 abuse and neglect registry check and a state and national criminal 4 history records check, pursuant to section 10-221d of the general 5 statutes, prior to performing any school security duties, and (2) require 6 that a municipality or local or regional school board employing or 7 entering into an agreement with such a person notify the local police 8 department of such person's name. 9 Statement of Purpose: To (1) ensure that a person who will possess a firearm while providing school security services in a public school satisfactorily completes a child abuse and neglect registry check and a state and national criminal history records check prior to performing any school security duties, and (2) require notification of a local police department when a municipality or local or regional school board employs or enters into an agreement with such a person.
