20+SYSTEMS TO COMPLETE AN ELECTRICIAN APPRE NTICESHIP.
1621 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General

19-Section 1. (Effective from passage) (a) The Commissioner of Consumer 1
20-Protection, after consulting with the Labor Commissioner, shall study 2
21-existing solar electrical contractor and journeyman licenses and any 3
22-associated regulations adopted pursuant to title 20 of the general 4
23-statutes, regarding the installation of commercial and residential solar 5
24-electrical systems. 6
25-(b) Not later than January 1, 2020, the Commissioner of Consumer 7
26-Protection shall report, in accordance with section 11-4a of the general 8
27-statutes, the results and any findings of the study completed pursuant 9
28-to subsection (a) of this section to the joint standing committees of the 10
29-General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to consumer 11
30-protection and labor. 12
24+Section 1. Section 20-340c of the general statutes is repealed and the 1
25+following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective October 1, 2019): 2
26+The Electrical Work Board shall recommend regulations consistent 3
27+with the provisions of sections 20-332 and 21a-7 to establish solar 4
28+electric contractor and journeyman licenses, for solar electricity work, 5
29+as defined in section 20-330, which shall be adopted by the 6
30+Commissioner of Consumer Protection, in accordance with the 7
31+provisions of chapter 54. Such regulations shall specify that any person 8
32+who installs a commercial or residential solar energy system shall be a 9
33+licensed electrician or shall be registered as an electrician's apprentice 10
34+prior to installing such system. 11
