AN ACT CONCERNING RE MOVAL FROM VOTER REG ISTRY LISTS 
AND THE DEPARTMENT O F MOTOR VEHICLES.  
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
Section 1. Section 9-19i of the general statutes is repealed and the 1 
following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective from passage): 2 
Any change of address form submitted by a person in accordance 3 
with law for purposes of a motor vehicle operator's license shall not 4 
serve as notification of change of address for voter registration for the 5 
person unless the person states on the form that the change of address 6 
is [not] for voter registration purposes. [The] Whenever any person 7 
does state on such form that such change of address is for voter 8 
registration purposes, the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles shall 9 
forthwith transmit such change of address information to the registrars 10 
of voters of the town of the former address of the person. If, upon 11 
receipt of such information, the name of the person appears on the 12 
registry list of the town, and if the new address is also within such 13 
town, the registrars shall enter the name of such elector on the registry 14

information, the name of the person appears on the registry list of the 16 
town and if the new address is outside such town, the registrars shall 17 
remove the name of such elector from the registry list and send the 18 
elector the notice, information and application required by section 9-19

This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following 
sections:
