2323 AN ACT CONCERNING UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS.
2424 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2525 Assembly convened:

2727 That chapter 567 of the general statutes be amended to: (1) Increase 1
2828 the minimum earnings required to qualify for benefits to an amount in 2
2929 line with the requirements of other states; (2) prohibit individuals from 3
3030 receiving benefits during any period during which they are receiving 4
3131 severance pay; (3) clarify the definition of "day of unexcused absence"; 5
3232 and (4) freeze the maximum unemployment benefit rate for three 6
3333 years. 7
3434 Statement of Purpose:
3535 To modify unemployment benefits law to protect the solvency of the
3636 Unemployment Compensation Fund.
