Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That chapter 567 of the general statutes be amended to: (1) Increase 1 the minimum earnings required to qualify for benefits to an amount in 2 line with the requirements of other states; (2) prohibit individuals from 3 receiving benefits during any period during which they are receiving 4 severance pay; (3) clarify the definition of "day of unexcused absence"; 5 and (4) freeze the maximum unemployment benefit rate for three 6 years. 7 Statement of Purpose: To modify unemployment benefits law to protect the solvency of the Unemployment Compensation Fund.
