AN ACT CONCERNING THE PERSONAL ASSETS OF PHYSICIANS AND ADVANCED PRACTICE REGISTERED NURSES IN MALPRACTICE ACTIONS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the general statutes be amended to protect the personal assets 1 of a physician and an advanced practice registered nurse from being 2 seized to secure a judgment obtained in a medical malpractice action if 3 the physician and advanced practice registered nurse maintain 4 professional liability insurance in accordance with sections 20-11b and 5 20-94c of the general statutes. 6 Statement of Purpose: To protect the personal assets of a physician and an advanced practice registered nurse during a medical malpractice action when such persons have complied with the statutory requirements concerning the purchase of professional liability insurance.
