AN ACT CONCERNING A STATE-WIDE STRATEGY ON READING
SUCCESS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That sections 10-14u and 10-14y of the general statutes be amended 1
to expand participation in the intensive reading instruction program 2
and the reading readiness program and to invest in closing 3
opportunity gaps through research and best practices on promoting 4
research-based multigenerational reading strategies. 5
Statement of Purpose:
To build upon the success of the state's successful kindergarten to
grade three literacy initiative.
