1818 AN ACT CONCERNING FISCALLY INDEPENDENT SCHOOL
1919 DISTRICTS.
2020 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2121 Assembly convened:

2323 That title 10 of the general statutes be amended to require that, for 1
2424 the fiscal year ending June 30, 2022, and each fiscal year thereafter, any 2
2525 local or regional board of education with an average daily 3
2626 membership, as defined in section 10-261 of the general statutes, equal 4
2727 to or less than fifteen thousand pupils shall become an independent 5
2828 special purpose government with the authority to fix and collect taxes 6
2929 and to issue debt for the provision of educational services. 7

3131 To increase school district transparency and accountability by making
3232 school districts fiscally independent entities.
