23 | 23 | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General | |
24 | 24 | Assembly convened: | |

26 | 26 | That: (1) Section 46b-84 of the general statutes be amended to ensure 1 | |
27 | 27 | that a court does not engage in gender bias when entering an order of 2 | |
28 | 28 | support in a family relations matter, and (2) section 17b-179 be 3 | |
29 | 29 | amended to require that the Office of Child Support Services send a 4 | |
30 | 30 | copy of any correspondence sent by said office to a state or federal 5 | |
31 | 31 | agency concerning an allegedly delinquent child support amount 6 | |
32 | 32 | owed by the child support obligor that potentially could result in a loss 7 | |
33 | 33 | of income to the obligor or interfere with the obligor's ability to secure 8 | |
34 | 34 | income and future employment. 9 | |
35 | 35 | Statement of Purpose: | |
36 | 36 | To ensure that (1) a court does not engage in gender bias when | |
37 | 37 | entering an order of support in a family relations matter, and (2) a | |
38 | 38 | child support obligor is aware of actions that may be taken by state or | |
39 | 39 | federal agencies that could result in loss of income or diminished | |
40 | 40 | future earning capacity. |
