2121 AN ACT CONCERNING CHILD SUPPORT AND THE OFFICE OF CHILD
2222 SUPPORT SERVICES.
2323 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2424 Assembly convened:

2626 That: (1) Section 46b-84 of the general statutes be amended to ensure 1
2727 that a court does not engage in gender bias when entering an order of 2
2828 support in a family relations matter, and (2) section 17b-179 be 3
2929 amended to require that the Office of Child Support Services send a 4
3030 copy of any correspondence sent by said office to a state or federal 5
3131 agency concerning an allegedly delinquent child support amount 6
3232 owed by the child support obligor that potentially could result in a loss 7
3333 of income to the obligor or interfere with the obligor's ability to secure 8
3434 income and future employment. 9
3535 Statement of Purpose:
3636 To ensure that (1) a court does not engage in gender bias when
3737 entering an order of support in a family relations matter, and (2) a
3838 child support obligor is aware of actions that may be taken by state or
3939 federal agencies that could result in loss of income or diminished
4040 future earning capacity.
