AN ACT CONCERNING A REVIEW OF FEDERAL HOUSING PROGRAMS TO ASSIST PEOPLE EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the Department of Housing (1) conduct a state-wide review to 1 determine how federal housing programs can be fully utilized to assist 2 and prioritize people experiencing homelessness, including, but not 3 limited to, a review of the federal Housing Choice Voucher program, 4 the Section 202 Supportive Housing for the Elderly program, the 5 Section 811 Supportive Housing for Persons with Disabilities program, 6 and the HOME Investment Partnerships program, and any other 7 relevant federal programs administered by the Department of Housing 8 or local public housing authorities, and (2) submit a report of findings 9 and recommendations to the joint standing committee of the General 10 Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to housing not later 11 than twelve months thereafter. 12 Statement of Purpose: To require the Department of Housing to conduct a state-wide review of how federal housing programs can be fully utilized to assist people experiencing homelessness with the goal of ending homelessness in Connecticut.
