AN ACT EXPANDING THE KATIE BECKETT WAIVER PROGRAM.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
Section 1. (Effective July 1, 2019) The sum of ____ dollars is 1
appropriated to the Department of Social Services, from the General 2
Fund, for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2020, to increase capacity for 3
and reduce the waiting list of the Medicaid waiver program 4
established pursuant to section 17b-283 of the general statutes that 5
provides home and community-based services to persons who are 6
institutionalized or at risk of institutionalization and who (1) are 7
twenty-one years of age or younger; (2) have a physical disability and 8
may also have a co-occurring developmental disability; and (3) meet 9
the financial eligibility criteria established for the waiver program. 10
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following
sections:

Statement of Purpose:
To increase the number of persons served under the Katie Beckett
Waiver Program.
