| 16 | 16 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General |

| 17 | 17 | | Assembly convened: |

| 19 | 19 | | Section 1. Section 17b-112 of the general statutes is amended by 1 |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | adding subsection (h) as follows (Effective from passage): 2 |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | (NEW) (h) Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection (d) of this 3 |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | section, on and after September 1, 2019, a family receiving assistance 4 |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | shall receive an additional benefit of thirty dollars monthly for each 5 |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | child under three years of age to purchase diapers for such child. The 6 |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | department shall adopt regulations in accordance with federal law to 7 |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | ensure that such benefit is used solely for the purchase of diapers. The 8 |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | department may implement policies and procedures to implement the 9 |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | provisions of this subsection while in the process of adopting such 10 |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | policies and procedures as regulations, provided the department posts 11 |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | such policies or procedures on the eRegulations System prior to 12 |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | adopting the regulations. 13 |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following |
