	13	+	AN ACT CONCERNING TH E THEFT OF WASTE VEG ETABLE OIL OR
	14	+	ANIMAL FATS.
11	15		Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
12	16		Assembly convened:

14		-	Section 1. Section 53a-125 of the general statutes is repealed and the
15		-	following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective October 1, 2019):
16		-	(a) A person is guilty of larceny in the fourth degree when he
17		-	commits larceny as defined in section 53a-119, and: (1) The property
18		-	consists of waste vegetable oil or animal fats; or (2) the value of the
19		-	property or service exceeds one thousand dollars.
20		-	(b) For purposes of this section, "waste vegetable oil or animal fats"
21		-	means used vegetable oil or animal fats stored by a school, restaurant,
22		-	institutional cafeteria or other institution or business for the purpose of
23		-	collection and recycling of such oil or fats, including the conversion of
24		-	such oil or fats into a biodiesel blend, as defined in section 16a-21b.
25		-	[(b)] (c) Larceny in the fourth degree is a class A misdemeanor.
