1116 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General

14-Section 1. Subdivision (9) of subsection (a) of section 10-76d of the
15-general statutes is repealed and the following is substituted in lieu
16-thereof (Effective July 1, 2019):
17-(9) The planning and placement team shall, in accordance with the
18-provisions of the Individuals With Disabilities Education Act, 20 USC
19-1400, et seq., as amended from time to time, develop and update
20-annually a statement of transition service needs for each child
21-requiring special education. Commencing not later than the date on
22-which the first individual education program takes effect for a child
23-who is at least fourteen years of age and diagnosed with autism
24-spectrum disorder, such program shall include (A) appropriate
25-measurable postsecondary goals based upon age -appropriate
26-transition assessments related to training, education, employment and,
27-where appropriate, independent living skills; and (B) the transition
28-services, including courses of study, needed to assist a child in
29-reaching those goals. The individual education program shall be
30-updated annually thereafter in accordance with the provisions of this
31-subdivision. Nothing in this subdivision shall be construed as Substitute House Bill No. 7168
