2119 AN ACT CONCERNING TH E APPROVAL OF CERTAIN NEW
2220 MUNICIPAL CONSTRUCTI ON PROJECTS.
2321 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General

2624 Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2019) Notwithstanding the 1
2725 provisions of the general statutes, any special act, municipal charter or 2
2826 ordinance to the contrary, no legislative body of a municipality shall 3
2927 vote to approve any new municipal construction project for which the 4
3028 estimated cost is greater than twenty-five million dollars unless there 5
3129 has been opportunity for public comment on such project at a properly 6
3230 noticed public hearing in such municipality prior to such vote. For 7
3331 purposes of this section, "municipality" means any town, city, 8
3432 consolidated town and city or consolidated town and borough. 9
3533 This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following
