| 26 | 24 | Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2019) Notwithstanding the 1 | |
| 27 | 25 | provisions of the general statutes, any special act, municipal charter or 2 | |
| 28 | 26 | ordinance to the contrary, no legislative body of a municipality shall 3 | |
| 29 | 27 | vote to approve any new municipal construction project for which the 4 | |
| 30 | 28 | estimated cost is greater than twenty-five million dollars unless there 5 | |
| 31 | 29 | has been opportunity for public comment on such project at a properly 6 | |
| 32 | 30 | noticed public hearing in such municipality prior to such vote. For 7 | |
| 33 | 31 | purposes of this section, "municipality" means any town, city, 8 | |
| 34 | 32 | consolidated town and city or consolidated town and borough. 9 | |
