19	19		AN ACT CONCERNING TH E ORGANIZATION OF THE CONNECTICUT
20	20		STATE GUARD.
21	21		Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
22	22		Assembly convened:

24	24		Section 1. Section 27-9 of the general statutes is repealed and the 1
25	25		following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective July 1, 2019): 2
26	26		[Whenever the Connecticut National Guard is called into the federal 3
27	27		service or whenever such a call, in the opinion of the Governor, is 4
28	28		deemed to be imminent, the Governor shall forthwith] The Governor 5
29	29		may raise, organize, maintain and govern [, from the unorganized 6
30	30		militia,] a body of volunteer troops for state military duty. Said body of 7
31	31		troops [, when so organized,] shall be known as "the Connecticut State 8
32	32		Guard" and [for and during the time of its existence as herein provided 9
33	33		it] shall be a part of the organized militia. 10
