Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: Section 1. (Effective July 1, 2019) The Department of Public Health, in 1 consultation with the Department of Mental Health and Addiction 2 Services and the Connecticut State Medical Society, shall study the 3 implications of the state ratifying and approving the Psychology 4 Interjurisdictional Compact, which would permit (1) a psychologist 5 licensed in a state that participates in said compact to practice 6 telehealth, as defined in section 19a-906 of the general statutes, in the 7 state without requiring that the psychologist be licensed pursuant to 8 chapter 383 of the general statutes, and (2) a psychologist licensed 9 pursuant to chapter 383 of the general statutes to practice telehealth in 10 another state that participates in said compact without requiring that 11 the psychologist be licensed in such state. On or before January 1, 2020, 12 the Commissioner of Public Health shall report, in accordance with the 13 provisions of section 11-4a of the general statutes, to the joint standing 14 committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters 15 relating to public health on the results of such study. 16 This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: Section 1 July 1, 2019 New section Substitute Bill No. 7302 LCO {\\PRDFS1\HCOUSERS\BARRYJN\WS\2019HB-07302- R01-HB.docx } 2 of 2 Statement of Legislative Commissioners: In Section 1, "thereby permitting" was changed to "which would permit" for clarity.
