| 23 | 23 | | Section 1. (Effective from passage) (a) The Department of Consumer 1 |

| 24 | 24 | | Protection shall study the legal and policy issues involved with 2 |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | authorizing online gambling in this state. The study shall include, but 3 |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | not be limited to, (1) an examination of any legal obstacles to 4 |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | authorizing online gambling, (2) an examination of the market for 5 |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | gambling in the state and the potential impact that authorizing online 6 |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | gambling would have on the market, (3) an estimate of potential 7 |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | revenue that the state could receive from authorizing online gambling, 8 |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | and (4) recommendations for a licensing program for online gambling 9 |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | providers. 10 |

| 33 | 33 | | (b) The department shall consult with the (1) Attorney General on 11 |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | any legal issue that may affect the ability of the state to authorize 12 |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | online gambling, (2) the Mashantucket Pequot Tribe and Mohegan 13 |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | Tribe of Indians of Connecticut regarding their interest in online 14 |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | gambling and how online gambling could affect their existing 15 |
|---|
