1919 AN ACT CONCERNING A STUDY OF ONLINE GAMBLING.
2020 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General

2323 Section 1. (Effective from passage) (a) The Department of Consumer 1
2424 Protection shall study the legal and policy issues involved with 2
2525 authorizing online gambling in this state. The study shall include, but 3
2626 not be limited to, (1) an examination of any legal obstacles to 4
2727 authorizing online gambling, (2) an examination of the market for 5
2828 gambling in the state and the potential impact that authorizing online 6
2929 gambling would have on the market, (3) an estimate of potential 7
3030 revenue that the state could receive from authorizing online gambling, 8
3131 and (4) recommendations for a licensing program for online gambling 9
3232 providers. 10
3333 (b) The department shall consult with the (1) Attorney General on 11
3434 any legal issue that may affect the ability of the state to authorize 12
3535 online gambling, (2) the Mashantucket Pequot Tribe and Mohegan 13
3636 Tribe of Indians of Connecticut regarding their interest in online 14
3737 gambling and how online gambling could affect their existing 15
3838 operations, and (3) any other stakeholder as the department deems 16 Raised Bill No. 7330

4545 (c) Not later than January 15, 2020, the department shall submit a 18
4646 report, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a of the general 19
4747 statutes, to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly 20
4848 having cognizance of matters relating to public safety and security. 21
4949 Such report shall include the department's findings and any 22
5050 recommendations for legislation. 23
