AN ACT CONCERNING A STUDY O F THE STATE LAWS GOV ERNING 
CIVIL PROCEDURE.  
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
Section 1. (Effective from passage) There is established a working 1 
group to study the state's laws governing civil procedure as set forth in 2 
title 51 and chapter 54 of the general statutes. The working group shall 3 
receive, consider and prepare comments and recommendations on 4 
proposed changes to such laws governing civil procedure. The 5 
working group shall consist of the following members who have 6 
familiarity with the provisions set forth in title 51 and chapter 54 of the 7 
general statutes: (1) One appointed by the speaker of the House of 8 
Representatives; (2) one appointed by the president pro tempore of the 9 
Senate; (3) one appointed by the majority leader of the House of 10 
Representatives; (4) one appointed by the majority leader of the Senate; 11 
(5) one appointed by the minority leader of the House of 12 
Representatives; and (6) one appointed by the minority leader of the 13 
Senate. Not later than February 1, 2020, the working group shall report 14 
on its findings and recommendations to the joint standing committee 15 
of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to the 16  Raised Bill No. 7398

judiciary. The working group shall terminate on the date that it 17 
submits such report or February 1, 2020, whichever is later. 18 
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following 
sections:
