20	19		AN ACT CONCERNING A STUDY OF VICTIM SERVICES.
21	20		Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
22	21		Assembly convened:

24	23		Section 1. (Effective from passage) (a) There is established a working 1
25	24		group to study victim services. Such study shall include, but not be 2
26	25		limited to, an examination of services provided to a victim of a crime 3
27	26		starting from the point of the commission of the crime and continuing 4
28	27		to the point that such person no longer needs such services. The study 5
29	28		shall include any recommendations for legislation to improve, enhance 6
30	29		or streamline the provision of such services. 7
31	30		(b) The working group shall consist of the following members: 8
32	31		(1) The Victim Advocate, or the Victim Advocate's designee; 9
33	32		(2) A municipal police chief appointed by the Connecticut Police 10
34	33		Chiefs Association; 11
35	34		(3) The Commissioner of Emergency Services and Public Protection, 12

37		-	(4) The Commissioner of Correction, or the commissioner's 14 Raised Bill No. 7401

	41	+	(4) The Commissioner of Correction, or the commissioner's 14
44	42		designee; 15
45	43		(5) The Chief Court Administrator, or the Chief Court 16
46	44		Administrator's designee; 17
47	45		(6) A representative of the Office of Victim Services of the Judicial 18
48	46		Branch designated by the Chief Court Administrator; and 19
49	47		(7) A member of the Board of Pardons and Paroles designated by 20
50	48		the chairperson of the board. 21
51	49		(c) Not later than January 1, 2020, the working group shall submit a 22
52	50		report on its findings and recommendations to the joint standing 23
53	51		committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters 24
54	52		relating to the judiciary, in accordance with the provisions of section 25
55	53		11-4a of the general statutes. The working group shall terminate on the 26
56	54		date that it submits such report or January 1, 2020, whichever is later. 27
