2019 AN ACT CONCERNING A STUDY OF VICTIM SERVICES.
2120 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2221 Assembly convened:

2423 Section 1. (Effective from passage) (a) There is established a working 1
2524 group to study victim services. Such study shall include, but not be 2
2625 limited to, an examination of services provided to a victim of a crime 3
2726 starting from the point of the commission of the crime and continuing 4
2827 to the point that such person no longer needs such services. The study 5
2928 shall include any recommendations for legislation to improve, enhance 6
3029 or streamline the provision of such services. 7
3130 (b) The working group shall consist of the following members: 8
3231 (1) The Victim Advocate, or the Victim Advocate's designee; 9
3332 (2) A municipal police chief appointed by the Connecticut Police 10
3433 Chiefs Association; 11
3534 (3) The Commissioner of Emergency Services and Public Protection, 12

41+(4) The Commissioner of Correction, or the commissioner's 14

4846 Branch designated by the Chief Court Administrator; and 19

5149 (c) Not later than January 1, 2020, the working group shall submit a 22
5250 report on its findings and recommendations to the joint standing 23
5351 committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters 24
5452 relating to the judiciary, in accordance with the provisions of section 25
5553 11-4a of the general statutes. The working group shall terminate on the 26
5654 date that it submits such report or January 1, 2020, whichever is later. 27
