RESOLUTION PROPOSING A STATE CONSTITUTIONAL 
AMENDMENT TO DISQUALIFY FELONY CONVICTS FROM HOLDING 
STATE-WIDE ELECTIVE OFFICE. 
Resolved by this Assembly: 
 
That section five of article fourth of the Constitution of the state and 1 
article two of the amendments to the Constitution of the state, as 2 
amended by article fifteen of said amendments, be amended to 3 
provide that any individual who has been convicted of any felony shall 4 
be ineligible to the offices of Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary 5 
of the State, Treasurer, Comptroller and Attorney General. 6 
Statement of Purpose:   
To provide that felony convicts shall be ineligible to hold any state 
office voted upon by all electors of the state.
