2020 AN ACT CONCERNING THE A CCESSIBILITY OF PRESCRIPTION

2222 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2323 Assembly convened:

2525 Section 1. (Effective July 1, 2019) The Department of Public Health, in 1
2626 collaboration with the Department of Consumer Protection, shall study 2
2727 the public health impact of a person not taking medication prescribed 3
2828 to such person by his or her health care provider, or not taking such 4
2929 medication as directed, because he or she cannot afford to pay for such 5
3030 medication. Such study shall include, but not be limited to, strategies 6
3131 to improve patient access to medication prescribed by the patient's 7
3232 health care provider. On or before January 1, 2020, the Commissioners 8
3333 of Public Health and Consumer Protection shall report, in accordance 9
3434 with the provisions of section 11-4a of the general statutes, to the joint 10
3535 standing committees of the General Assembly having cognizance of 11
3636 matters relating to public health and consumer protection regarding 12
3737 the findings of such study. 13
3838 This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following
3939 sections:
