Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: Section 1. (Effective July 1, 2019) The Department of Public Health, in 1 collaboration with the Department of Consumer Protection, shall study 2 the public health impact of a person not taking medication prescribed 3 to such person by his or her health care provider, or not taking such 4 medication as directed, because he or she cannot afford to pay for such 5 medication. Such study shall include, but not be limited to, strategies 6 to improve patient access to medication prescribed by the patient's 7 health care provider.
