LCO No. 6260 1 of 2 General Assembly Committee Bill No. 9 January Session, 2019 LCO No. 6260 Referred to Committee on GENERAL LAW Introduced by: (GL) AN ACT CONCERNING A STUDY REGARDING THE ADJUST MENT OF FEES FOR OCCUPATI ONAL LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATIONS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: Section 1. (NEW) (Effective July 1, 2019) (a) The Commissioner of 1 Consumer Protection shall conduct a study regarding the possible 2 reduction by seventy-five per cent of all existing fees for initial 3 occupational licenses, certifications and registrations issued by the 4 Department of Consumer Protection and the possible increasing of 5 existing renewal fees for such licenses, certifications and registrations 6 to account for lost revenue. 7 (b) Not later than January 1, 2020, the Commissioner of Consumer 8 Protection, in accordance with section 11-4a of the general statutes, 9 shall report the results of the study conducted pursuant to subsection 10 (a) of this section to the joint standing committee of the General 11 Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to consumer 12 protection. 13 Committee Bill No. 9 LCO No. 6260 2 of 2 This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: Section 1 July 1, 2019 New section Statement of Purpose: To require the Commissioner of Consumer Protection to conduct a study regarding the reduction of all existing fees for initial occupational licenses, certifications and registrations by seventy-five per cent and the increasing of existing renewal fees for such licenses, certifications and registrations to account for lost revenue.
