19 | 19 | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General | |
20 | 20 | Assembly convened: | |

22 | 22 | That the general statutes be amended to establish economic equality 1 | |
23 | 23 | for women by: (1) Requiring paid family and medical leave; (2) 2 | |
24 | 24 | increasing the minimum wage to fifteen dollars per hour by 2021; (3) 3 | |
25 | 25 | extending required sexual harassment prevention training to 4 | |
26 | 26 | companies with fewer than twenty employees, and requiring all such 5 | |
27 | 27 | training to be conducted annually regardless of the number of 6 | |
28 | 28 | employees; (4) requiring equal pay for equal work, establishing 7 | |
29 | 29 | standards for employees to prove unequal pay, establishing a 8 | |
30 | 30 | presumption that employers are in compliance with equal pay 9 | |
31 | 31 | standards if they conduct regular pay audits to ensure equal pay for 10 | |
32 | 32 | equal work; and (5) providing that each private and public employer 11 | |
33 | 33 | have a minimum of ten per cent of women on their board of directors 12 | |
34 | 34 | by 2021, and thirty per cent of women on such boards by 2023. 13 | |
