1818 AN ACT CONCERNING THE LOCATION OF STATE-OPERATED
1919 FIREARM TRAINING FACILITIES.
2020 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2121 Assembly convened:

2323 That the general statutes be amended to (1) prohibit a state agency 1
2424 from constructing a firearms training facility in this state if (A) the 2
2525 facility is within, adjoining or near a state forest, or (B) the 3
2626 municipality or municipalities within whose territorial limits such 4
2727 firearms training facility is to be located does not approve of the 5
2828 facility by a referendum of the electors, and (2) require the Department 6
2929 of Emergency Services and Public Protection to (A) conduct a study 7
3030 regarding its firearm training needs, and (B) identify property 8
3131 previously considered for the construction of a firearms training 9
3232 facility as deficient for such construction. 10
3333 Statement of Purpose:
3434 To ensure local, public input on the location of state firearms training
3535 facilities and to direct the Department of Emergency Services and
3636 Public Protection to conduct a study regarding its firearm training
3737 needs.
