SEN. WITKOS, 8th Dist. AN ACT CONCERNING QUALIFYING CONTRIBUTIONS UNDER THE CITIZENS' ELECTION PROGRAM. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That chapter 157 of the general statutes be amended to require that 1 the State Elections Enforcement Commission, when reviewing the 2 application of a candidate for a grant from the Citizens' Election Fund, 3 provide to such candidate (1) a list of each contribution to the 4 candidate committee of such candidate that said commission has not 5 deemed a qualifying contribution, and (2) an explanation for each such 6 contribution of why said commission has not deemed it a qualifying 7 contribution. 8 Statement of Purpose: To require the State Elections Enforcement Commission to advise candidates applying for grants under the Citizens' Election Program of why certain contributions are not deemed qualifying contributions.
