AN ACT CUTTING OFF PUBLIC ASSISTANCE FOR PERSONS WHO 
LEAVE THE STATE FOR MORE THAN THIRTY DAYS. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That title 17b of the general statutes be amended to require that any 1 
recipient of public assistance who is absent from the state for more 2 
than thirty days loses public assistance and that such absence 3 
establishes a rebuttable presumption of abandonment of Connecticut 4 
residency. 5 
Statement of Purpose:   
To prohibit public assistance for persons who leave the state for more 
than thirty days.
