AN ACT PROTECTING THE INTERESTS OF PERSONS WITH
INTELLECTUAL DISABILITY.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That title 17a of the general statutes be amended to require (1) the 1
Commissioner of Developmental Services to develop a strategic plan 2
to reduce the wait time for persons with intellectual disability for 3
services from the department, (2) the Secretary of the Office of Policy 4
and Management to consult with stakeholders on any plan to close a 5
facility operated by the Department of Developmental Services, and (3) 6
the Department of Developmental Services to provide advance notice 7
when the eligibility of a person with intellectual disability to receive 8
state-assisted care will end. 9
Statement of Purpose:
To improve services for and protect the interests of persons with
intellectual disability.
