| 23 | 23 | chief elected official of a municipality to appoint the chairperson of the 2 | |
| 24 | 24 | local board of education for such municipality if the budget for such 3 | |
| 25 | 25 | board of education is equal to or greater than fifty per cent of the 4 | |
| 26 | 26 | budget for such municipality, except all other officers of such board 5 | |
| 27 | 27 | shall be elected by a majority of the members of such board. 6 | |
