AN ACT CONCERNING BOARDS OF EDUCATION MEMBERSHIP.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That title 10 of the general statutes be amended to authorize the 1
chief elected official of a municipality to appoint the chairperson of the 2
local board of education for such municipality if the budget for such 3
board of education is equal to or greater than fifty per cent of the 4
budget for such municipality, except all other officers of such board 5
shall be elected by a majority of the members of such board. 6
Statement of Purpose:
To authorize the chief elected official to appoint the chairperson of the
local board of education for certain municipalities.
