| 24 | 24 | notwithstanding the provisions of section 54-193 of the general 2 | |
| 25 | 25 | statutes, no person may be prosecuted for any offense under title 53 or 3 | |
| 26 | 26 | 53a of the general statutes as a result of an investigation of the 4 | |
| 27 | 27 | exploitation of an elderly person, as defined in section 17b-450 of the 5 | |
| 28 | 28 | general statutes, except within five years from the date of the 6 | |
| 29 | 29 | discovery of such offense or within five years from the date of the 7 | |
| 30 | 30 | death of such elderly person, whichever shall first occur. 8 | |
