1818 AN ACT CONCERNING THE STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS FOR THE
1919 CRIME OF ABUSING AN ELDERLY PERSON.
2020 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2121 Assembly convened:

2323 That the general statutes be amended to provide that 1
2424 notwithstanding the provisions of section 54-193 of the general 2
2525 statutes, no person may be prosecuted for any offense under title 53 or 3
2626 53a of the general statutes as a result of an investigation of the 4
2727 exploitation of an elderly person, as defined in section 17b-450 of the 5
2828 general statutes, except within five years from the date of the 6
2929 discovery of such offense or within five years from the date of the 7
3030 death of such elderly person, whichever shall first occur. 8
3131 Statement of Purpose:
3232 To amend the statute of limitations for the crime of abusing an elderly
3333 person to provide that the five-year period be based on the discovery
3434 of the offense or the death of the elderly person.
