20	19		AN ACT CONCERNING AL TERNATE MEMBERS OF MUNICIPAL
21	20		PLANNING COMMISSIONS .
22	21		Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
23	22		Assembly convened:

25	24		Section 1. Section 8-19a of the general statutes is repealed and the 1
26	25		following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective October 1, 2019): 2
27	26		Any municipality, in addition to such powers as it has under the 3
28	27		provisions of the general statutes or any special act, shall have the 4
29	28		power to provide by ordinance for the appointment or election of 5
30	29		alternate members to its planning commission. Such alternate 6
31	30		members shall be electors, and, when seated as herein provided, have 7
32	31		all the powers and duties set forth in the general statutes or any special 8
33	32		act relating to such municipality for such commission and its members. 9
34	33		Such [alternate members shall be electors and shall not be members of 10
35	34		the zoning commission or zoning board of appeals. Such alternates] 11
