2019 AN ACT CONCERNING FIREFIGHTER WORK WEE KS.
2120 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General

2423 Section 1. Section 7-305 of the general statutes is repealed and the 1
2524 following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective January 1, 2020): 2
2625 (a) The work week for all permanent paid members of the 3
2726 uniformed firefighter force for municipalities adopting sections 7-303 4
2827 to 7-306, inclusive, shall be an average work week of not more than 5
2928 fifty-six hours, computed over a period of one fiscal or calendar year, 6
3029 as the municipality elects; provided, unless otherwise prescribed by 7
3130 regulation or ordinance, any time spent in an emergency in excess of 8
3231 any regularly assigned or scheduled work week in connection with 9
3332 any actual fire or conflagration, including time spent going to, working 10
3433 at or returning from any actual fire, or any other work or duty 11
3534 classified as an act of mercy shall not be included in computing such 12
3635 average work week. 13
3736 (b) Notwithstanding subsection (a) of this section or any ordinance 14
3837 adopted pursuant to section 7-304, the work week and average work 15
