AN ACT CONCERNING RETAILER POLICIES CONCERNING 
COMPROMISED DEBIT OR CREDIT CARDS. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That title 21a of the general statutes be amended to prohibit any 1 
retailer doing business in the state, including via the Internet, from 2 
banning a consumer from shopping solely because a bank reported 3 
false credit or debit card charges due to a compromised credit or debit 4 
card, unless the retailer has a written company policy. 5 
Statement of Purpose:   
To provide transparency to consumers concerning company policies.
