1818 AN ACT PROVIDING LEGAL REPRESENTATION TO CHILDREN AND
1919 ADULTS INVOLVED IN CERTAIN IMMIGRATION MATTERS.
2020 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2121 Assembly convened:

2323 That the general statutes be amended to: (1) Establish a right to legal 1
2424 representation for any child who is a state resident and who is 2
2525 involved in a pending removal proceeding before the federal Executive 3
2626 Office for Immigration Review; (2) establish a right to legal 4
2727 representation for any adult who (A) is an indigent state resident, (B) 5
2828 has been detained, and (C) is involved in a pending immigration 6
2929 matter that involves possible removal from the state or deportation; 7
3030 and (3) require the Office of the Attorney General to transfer moneys 8
3131 received from settlements to the Connecticut Bar Association to ensure 9
3232 sufficient funding to secure legal representation for such children and 10
3333 adults. 11

3535 To provide children and adults with the right to legal representation in
3636 certain immigrations matters.
