AN ACT PROVIDING LEGAL REPRESENTATION TO CHILDREN AND 
ADULTS INVOLVED IN CERTAIN IMMIGRATION MATTERS. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That the general statutes be amended to: (1) Establish a right to legal 1 
representation for any child who is a state resident and who is 2 
involved in a pending removal proceeding before the federal Executive 3 
Office for Immigration Review; (2) establish a right to legal 4 
representation for any adult who (A) is an indigent state resident, (B) 5 
has been detained, and (C) is involved in a pending immigration 6 
matter that involves possible removal from the state or deportation; 7 
and (3) require the Office of the Attorney General to transfer moneys 8 
received from settlements to the Connecticut Bar Association to ensure 9 
sufficient funding to secure legal representation for such children and 10 
adults. 11 
Statement of Purpose:   
To provide children and adults with the right to legal representation in 
certain immigrations matters.
